With only one brand at \u00a0the E\u00e7a de Queiroz Foundation vineyards to focus on, our winemaker Rui Cunha has managed to fine-tune this traditional Vinho Verde into something quite extraordinary: a wine that is at once friendly, approachable, offers maximum freshness, fruit and balance in a blend of Avesso and Arinto grapes. The result is, as Mark Squires, Portugal critic for Robert Parker&#8217;s Wine Advocate says: \u201cIn this style, <span class=\"\" lang=\"EN-GB\">this is about as good as it gets.\u201d Colour:\u00a0<\/span>Lemon citrus. Nose: Young and intense, reminiscent of citrus and tropical fruits. Slightly floral. Palate: In the mouth it offers a smooth attack, balanced acidity and a fruity and vibrant finish. Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with fish, seafood and even white meat or traditional Portuguese cod dishes and a variety of snacks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In partnership with the Funda\u00e7\u00e3o E\u00e7a de Queiroz, a museum dedicated to the most prolific Portuguese writer of the 19th Century which is close by Covela, we produce Tormes, a classic Vinho Verde with a captivating aroma and a remarkable, fruity freshness that reflects perfectly the terroir of the sub-region of Bai\u00e3o. The granite soils form terraces around the old manor house of Tormes, that was the main scenario in E\u00e7a\u2019s last book &#8211; The City and the Mountains, and this wine also serves as our tribute to the great author who visited and fell in love with these lands of the Douro Verde over 120 years ago.
