For the first time in Covela’s history, 2014 saw the production of a Covela FANT\u00c1STICO Tinto that, as the name implies, is only produced in truly exceptional years and whose evolution in French oak barrels has revealed extraordinary characteristics. As Covela stopped producing reds in 2014, this is effectively a first, last and thus only edition of this very special wine. Winemaker Rui Cunha does not reveal many details about Fant\u00e1stico wines, but like all reds from Covela, this wine will tend to show a freshness and an elegance that becomes increasingly evident with the passing of the years. Fortunately, that will be easy to prove, as the reds from Covela have always had a great capacity for ageing.
