Description
This wine comes from the heart of the prestigious Cima Corgo sub-region and is made from vineyards planted on the banks of the majestic Douro River. Winters are cold and summers are very hot. In the Douro region, demarcated for the first time in 1756 and today known as one of the most spectacular wine regions in the world, centuries-old viticulture traditions are still respected, such as harvesting by hand and treading grapes by foot in old stone “lagares”. It is not for nothing that for centuries Port has been Portugal’s main export and its great world ambassador. Manual harvest, transport of grapes in small boxes to avoid premature crushing. In the cellar, the grapes are separated and foot-trodden plot-by-plot and our Tawny is aged in old casks. Tecedeiras Ports are only made in special years. The spirit used to halt fermentation is supplied by only the best distillers and selected for its purity and neutral flavour. In addition, we only harvest the grapes when they are fully ripe, allowing us to use spirits in moderation. We reserve grapes from the oldest vineyards for this Tawny Reserve.
